Trail Description
Kinnikinnick Park Pink Trail in Sechelt is the definition of an easy, low-stress forest walk. This 2.9 km loop is almost flat, with only about 35 m of gain and a max elevation around 111 m, so it suits just about anyone who can handle a relaxed 38-minute stroll.
The trail winds through classic Sunshine Coast coastal rainforest, with tall trees, thick green undergrowth, and that damp, earthy BC forest smell. It’s well signed, easy to follow, and makes a calm loop that works for beginner hikers, new trail runners, families, and anyone just wanting a quiet walk in the woods close to Sechelt.
Recent hikers say the Kinnikinnick Park Pink Trail is generally well maintained and dog friendly, with lots of happy pups out for a walk, but expect some mud and a few slippery patches after rain. Regular runners and parents with kids manage it fine with decent footwear, but sandals are not a great idea. The trail is enjoyable year-round, with the driest footing usually from spring through early fall, and it’s an especially good option for seniors or anyone easing into hiking on the Sunshine Coast.
