Trail Description
Hidden Grove Purple, Blue, Red and Green Loop in Sechelt is one of those easy local hikes you end up coming back to again and again. At 4.7 km with about 115 m of gain, it’s a relaxed loop that gives you a solid forest fix and a peek at the inlet without chewing up your whole day.
The trail network here is the main attraction: color-coded routes, clear maps at junctions, and well-signed options marked “steep” if you want a tiny bit more effort. You wander through tall second-growth forest, soft needle-covered paths, and pockets of big trees, with a short viewpoint section where you can look out toward Sechelt Inlet before dropping back into the woods.
Right now, hikers report the Hidden Grove Purple, Blue, Red and Green Loop as well maintained, easy to follow, and generally dry outside of heavy rain. The “steep” labels are more of a friendly heads-up than a real challenge, though new hikers and families will appreciate the warning. Plan around an hour to an hour and a quarter, expect some roots and short ups and downs, and know that this one works almost year-round, with May to October offering the most comfortable conditions and winter bringing wetter, muddier sections but still very doable with decent footwear.
