Trail Description

Hidden Grove Blue, Yellow, Red, Grey and Light Blue Loops in Sechelt is a relaxed forest wander, not a grind. At 6.3 km with only 148 m of gain and a max elevation around 201 m, it’s an easy loop that most people finish in about an hour and a half. The vibe is quiet, green, and friendly, with lots of options to shorten or extend your walk as you go.

The trail network winds through classic Sunshine Coast forest, with tall trees, soft ground, and sunshine filtering through the canopy on clear days. You’ll pass a few viewpoints and a lookout, but the real draw here is the calm, well-marked paths and the chance to just walk and breathe without worrying about route-finding. There are info boards along the way that share local Indigenous history and traditional uses of the forest, which adds some context to what you’re walking through.

Right now, Hidden Grove in Sechelt is in good shape overall, with volunteers keeping the trails clear and signage easy to follow, though some sections can get soupy with snowmelt while others, like the Grey loop, dry out faster. Expect an easy-going surface with no technical sections, making it suitable for newer hikers and people with mild mobility issues, but still bring decent footwear for the wet patches. This loop works year-round, with May to October being the driest and most popular window, and shoulder seasons offering quieter, moodier forest walks once the snow and ice have melted back.
