Trail Description
FSR - 3rd Step - Sunday Morning in Roberts Creek is an easy, no-drama forest walk with a mix of logging roads and quieter singletrack. At 8.7 km out and back with about 228 m of gain and a max altitude around 259 m, it’s more about stretching the legs than chasing views. Expect around 2 hours and 20 minutes of steady but relaxed walking.
The route follows forest service roads for a good chunk, so it’s straightforward to navigate but can feel a bit monotonous if you’re after a more wild vibe. You do still get that classic Roberts Creek forest feel: tall trees, mossy edges, and the kind of soft, damp ground that’s easy on the knees. It works well for walking, light jogging, and casual rides, and it’s usually pretty quiet compared to the busier Sunshine Coast trails.
Recent reports mention a washed-out bridge around the 2.6 km mark, with a fast-running stream where the crossing used to be. Be ready to either turn around there or get your feet wet if conditions allow and water levels are safe; in wetter seasons, that crossing can be sketchy. The FSR - 3rd Step - Sunday Morning trail is open year-round, but expect mud and slick sections after rain, and keep dogs leashed and close, especially near the stream and any active logging areas.
