Trail Description

Cliff Gilker Park Loop in Roberts Creek is a quick hit of classic Sunshine Coast forest without much effort. This 2.1 km loop is very easy, mostly flat with just 48 m of gain, and usually takes around half an hour, so it works well as a short outing with kids, visiting friends, or a leg-stretcher off Highway 101.

On the Cliff Gilker Park Loop you wander under big second-growth trees, with the sound of Clack Creek and its small waterfalls never far away. The trail rolls gently with a few short, rooty sections and small rocky bits, but nothing technical, and there are benches tucked along the way if you want to sit, listen to the water, or just watch the light in the trees.

Right now, expect mud in many spots and a lot of bridge closures, especially on the red trail, which means the “loop” often turns into an out-and-back or a bit of creative rerouting. The park is still well marked and easy to follow, but you may need to backtrack, detour, or do a small creek hop where people have made crossings, and recent visitors report only one bridge reliably open. Plan sturdy shoes, keep dogs close near drop-offs and closed structures, avoid stormy or high-wind days due to falling branches, and know that Cliff Gilker Park in Roberts Creek is more about a relaxed forest and creek walk than big views or swimming holes, and is pleasant year-round with the driest footing from late spring through early fall.
