Trail Description
Sprockids Intermediate Trail in Gibsons is a short loop with a fun mix of forest singletrack and gentle climbing, tucked into the popular Sprockids bike park area. At 2.4 km with about 132 m of gain and a high point around 370 m, it’s an easy outing that usually takes under an hour, but still feels like a real trail, not just a stroll in the park.
The loop winds through classic Sunshine Coast forest, linking sections like Fuzzy Hugs to Burntwood Lodge, with soft dirt, roots, and the odd tighter corner. You’ll get filtered views through the trees and that quiet, mossy vibe this area is known for, plus a few short ups and downs that keep it interesting without ever feeling technical or exposed.
Recent hikers point out that Sprockids Intermediate Trail is mainly designed for mountain biking, so expect riders and be ready to step aside, especially on weekends and dry evenings. Trails here can get slick after rain and a bit dusty in late summer, so wear decent footwear and keep an eye out for bike lines crossing the path. Best season is roughly May to October, with shoulder seasons still workable if you don’t mind mud; dogs are allowed on leash, and a downloaded map helps with the maze of intersecting bike trails around Gibsons.
