Trail Description

Tin Pants in Whistler is a short, easy loop that gives you a real taste of the Lost Lake trail network without committing to a big day. At 3.7 km with about 109 m of gain, it’s a relaxed hour-long outing that works well for families, newer hikers, or anyone looking to stretch their legs in the forest close to town.

The Tin Pants loop winds through classic Whistler woodland, mostly shaded and cool, with a mellow mix of wide path and singletrack. The trail is well marked with small signs, easy to follow, and has a few short, steeper gravel sections to keep it interesting, plus a solid lookout point about three quarters of the way through that opens up the views after all that tree time.

This is a busy multi-use route in the Lost Lake area, so expect a lot of mountain bikes and keep your ears open on the narrower bits of Tin Pants, especially in summer. Kids and dogs do well here, but dogs need to stay leashed, and in late season you might find snow dropping off the trees or little toads near the lake, so watch your footing. Trail conditions are usually best from May to October, and if you’re planning to bike or ski in the area too, check Whistler’s seasonal trail info before you go, as some routes in the network have activity-specific closures.
