Trail Description

Cut Yer Bars Trail in Whistler, British Columbia is a short loop that gives you that “real trail” feeling without eating up your whole day. At 2.7 km with about 90 m of gain and a high point around 718 m, it’s rated easy and usually takes under an hour, so it’s a solid choice for a quick hit of forest time before or after other Whistler plans.

The loop winds through classic coastal forest with a mix of roots, dirt, and a few small ups and downs to keep it interesting but not punishing. You’ll get pockets of sunshine breaking through the trees, some quieter stretches away from the busier Whistler trails, and a route that works well for both hikers and casual mountain bikers.

Right now, people are reporting a dry, sunny trail with almost no bugs, which makes Cut Yer Bars Trail especially pleasant. The route is generally best from April through October, when it’s snow-free and easy to follow, but shoulder-season users should still expect the odd wet or slick patch. Plan for about 48 minutes at a relaxed pace, bring basic trail shoes, and know that dogs are allowed and can be off leash in some areas, as long as they’re under control and you’re ready to share the loop with the occasional bike.
