Trail Description

Callaghan Olympic Jump Loop is a short, punchy hike in the Callaghan Valley near Whistler, starting by the old Olympic ski jumping facility. At just 2.3 km with about 113 m of gain, it’s a quick outing that still gets your heart rate up, thanks mostly to one thing: stairs. Lots of them.

The loop winds through forest and open clearings with views of the Callaghan Valley and the impressive ski jump structure towering above you. You’ll climb and descend around the jumps, getting a cool perspective on the Olympic venue and some solid viewpoints for photos without needing a full-day mission. It’s more about the unique setting than remote wilderness, but it’s a fun change from the usual Whistler trails.

Recent hikers count roughly 455 stairs, so while Callaghan Olympic Jump Loop is rated easy, expect a steady stair workout and bring decent footwear. The trail usually takes around 45–50 minutes, but give yourself extra time if you like to stop and look around the jumps. This area can be snowy or icy outside summer and early fall, so check current conditions, and if you’re heading up in shoulder season, pack microspikes and be ready for wet, slippery steps.
