Trail Description

Brandywine Trail in Whistler is an easy out-and-back walk that packs in way more views than you’d expect for a 5.8 km route with just 158 m of gain. Most people knock it off in around an hour and a half, and it’s a solid choice if you want a low-effort leg stretch between Vancouver and Whistler without committing to a big mountain mission.

The trail starts from Brandywine Falls and follows wide, smooth gravel paths through the forest, with clear signage the whole way. You’ll hit multiple viewpoints of Brandywine Falls, the canyon, and the river, plus big mountain views toward the Tantalus Range on a clear day. Keep going and you’ll reach the Whistler Bungee Bridge, where you can watch jumpers launch into the gorge and soak up one of the cooler viewpoints in the Sea to Sky.

Right now, Brandywine Trail is described as well maintained and clearly marked, with easy grades and lots of families and casual walkers using it. Expect crowds near the main falls viewpoints and bikes sharing the wider gravel sections, but there’s plenty of room. In summer, bring bug spray for the mosquitoes and be bear aware, especially if you explore any side loops where the forest gets denser and less traveled; black bears are common here. The main season runs roughly May to October, with the Brandywine Falls parking lot typically opening around early May, and in winter you may want microspikes or snowshoes depending on conditions.
