Trail Description

Brandywine Falls Loop via Suspension Bridge is an easy, longer walk just south of Whistler that strings together a bit of everything: roaring waterfall, deep forest, river canyon, and a quirky bungee scene. At 9.5 km with only about 215 m of gain, it’s more about distance than climbing, so it suits anyone who’s fine with a couple of hours on their feet but doesn’t want steep hills.

The loop starts on a gravel access road toward Whistler Bungee, which means some vehicle traffic and not-so-exciting views under power lines for the first stretch. Things improve as you reach the canyon, with big views of the bungee jump, then Brandywine Falls thundering into the gorge, plus a mix of forest, bridges, and glimpses of snowy peaks on a clear day. The last section along the confluence of two rivers is the real payoff, with fast water, cooler air, and a swaying suspension bridge that adds a bit of adrenaline to an otherwise mellow route.

Recent hikers say the trail is well maintained, mostly flat, and usually quieter once you’re away from the main Brandywine Falls parking area. Expect some road noise and unremarkable gravel walking in spots, and know that the suspension bridge wood planks are feeling a bit tired, with a posted no trespassing sign at times, so some people are rerouting via Lava Lake to complete the loop. Plan this Whistler hike for May to October for dry footing, keep an eye out for bear sign, and bring someone who appreciates a low-effort day with a big waterfall and fun bridges as the reward for pushing through the less scenic sections.
