Trail Description

Brandywine Falls in Whistler is the classic Sea to Sky leg-stretcher: short, easy, and absolutely worth pulling off the highway for. The official trail is only about 1.1 km out and back with roughly 54 m of gain, taking most people under half an hour, but you get a big payoff for the effort with a powerful waterfall dropping into a deep canyon and wide views down the valley.

The walk from the parking lot to the main Brandywine Falls viewpoint is mostly flat on packed forest path and short boardwalk sections, with a quick railway crossing adding a bit of character. From the main platform you get a dramatic look straight across at the falls, then you can carry on a little farther to the last viewpoint for a sweeping view of Daisy Lake and Black Tusk in the distance. If you want to wander more, side trails toward Swim Lake and other nearby routes give you extra forest time without much extra work.

Recent visitors report lots of free parking on many days, clear signage, and a trail smooth enough that people are pushing strollers out to the falls. It can be very crowded in peak summer and on sunny weekends, but early mornings, shoulder season, or even light rain thin out the crowds. Expect puddles after wet weather, keep dogs leashed even if others don’t, and be aware the Brandywine Falls trail and day-use area do sometimes close for events or seasonal safety, so it’s smart to check current BC Parks or local updates before you drive out from Whistler.
