Trail Description

Alpine Walk Trail is a quick, easy loop high on Whistler Blackcomb that gives you a real alpine feel without much effort. At just 1.4 km with about 63 m of gain and a max altitude around 1,922 m, it’s more of a relaxed wander than a workout, and most people finish it in under half an hour. It’s a good way to stretch your legs after the gondola ride and get a taste of the alpine zone before or after bigger routes like the High Note Trail.

The Alpine Walk Trail circles through open slopes with big views toward the Whistler valley, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, and surrounding mountains when the clouds cooperate. The path is wide, well marked, and in many sections paved or gravelled, so it’s very family friendly, with kids often loving the small “adventure” rock features and lingering snow patches in early summer. Expect wildflowers and the odd marmot whistle in season, plus that high-elevation quiet when low cloud rolls in.

Recent hikers describe the trail as super easy, short, and exposed, so bring sun protection and a bit of water, and expect some bugs on warm days. Parts of the loop are occasionally closed for maintenance or snow, so check current Whistler Blackcomb lift and trail reports, and always time your walk so you’re back in plenty of time for the last lift down. Best months for the Alpine Walk Trail in Whistler are roughly June through October, when snow has mostly melted and the alpine flowers and views are at their best.
