Trail Description

The Marine Drive Cycle Route in White Rock, British Columbia is a relaxed, sea-level spin or stroll with just enough elevation to keep your legs awake. At 10.5 km out-and-back with about 124 m of gain and a high point around 75 m, it’s an easy route that most people finish in just over two hours. It’s a good choice if you want ocean air, people-watching along the strip, and a route you don’t have to overthink.

Following Marine Drive, the route tracks along the shoreline with constant views over Semiahmoo Bay and, on clear days, Mount Baker hovering in the distance. You’ll pass beach access points, cafes, and viewpoints where you can hop off the bike or pause your walk to watch the trains and the tide. The path is shared, so expect a steady mix of cyclists, runners, and walkers moving both directions.

Recent reports say the Marine Drive Cycle Route has been busy but not jammed on sunny days, which is pretty typical for White Rock’s waterfront. Go early morning or later in the evening if you want a quieter spin, and be ready to slow down through the densest parts of the strip where cars are pulling in and out. The route is rideable and walkable year-round, but in summer you’ll be dealing with more traffic and pedestrians, so use your bell, keep right, and remember that dogs need to be leashed along Marine Drive.
