Trail Description

Prospect Point via Bridle Path and Lovers Walk is a mellow 6.6 km loop in Stanley Park, right in the heart of Vancouver. With only about 112 m of elevation gain and a max altitude under 80 m, it’s more of a relaxed wander than a workout, usually done in around an hour and a half. It’s a simple way to get deep into the world’s largest urban forest park without leaving the city behind for long.

The loop weaves through tall trees, quiet interior trails, and pockets of sun and shade, giving you a real feel for Stanley Park beyond the seawall. You’ll pass spots like Beaver Lake and eventually reach Prospect Point, where you’re rewarded with strong views over the Lions Gate Bridge and Burrard Inlet. Trails are wide, well maintained, and dotted with benches and the odd garbage can, so it’s easy to turn this into a slow walk with breaks or a family-friendly outing.

On paper, Prospect Point via Bridle Path and Lovers Walk is very easy, but the maze of junctions can throw people off, and recent hikers say they relied heavily on AllTrails to stay on course. Expect mostly good footing year-round, but keep an eye on your map, especially around the many forks, and don’t be surprised if you end up extending your walk with side loops. Coyotes are regularly seen in this part of Stanley Park, so keep dogs leashed, pack a small first-aid kit if you have one, and bring a snack or picnic if you want to linger at Beaver Lake or Prospect Point.
