Trail Description

Andy Livingstone Park Walk in downtown Vancouver is more of a quick urban loop than a full-on hike, but it does the job if you need a fast leg stretch or a bit of green between errands. The loop is only about 0.8 km with almost no elevation gain, so it’s an easy nine-minute wander that works for all ages and fitness levels.

The path loops around lawns, sports fields, and a small pond, with city towers framing the whole scene. You’ll be walking on paved and gravel paths, crossing a road at a stoplight as part of the loop, so it feels like a blend of park and city sidewalk rather than a forest trail. It’s a handy spot for a short dog walk on leash, a cooldown after a game, or a quick mental break from downtown streets.

Recent visitors mention that Andy Livingstone Park can feel sketchy at times, with some tents, litter, and people camping in the area, so go with a buddy if that makes you more comfortable and stick to daylight hours. The route has a couple of turns that aren’t obvious, so using a map app for your first lap helps, especially where the loop crosses the road. The walk is accessible year-round in Vancouver’s mild climate, but expect it to be wet and a bit muddy in winter and after rain, and keep an eye on your footing near any worn or uneven sections of path.
