Trail Description

Musqueam Park Loop in Vancouver is a super mellow 2.4 km walk if you just want a quick stretch of the legs without driving far from the city. With only about 22 m of elevation gain and a top altitude around 24 m, it’s basically flat, making it easy for kids, strollers with decent wheels, and anyone easing into walking or running. Expect to spend around 30 minutes on the loop if you’re moving at a casual pace.

The loop winds through a mix of river-adjacent green space and old-growth style forest, mostly on wide gravel paths. You’ll pass some historical interpretive signs, open fields, and you may see horseback riders using the same network of trails, which gives Musqueam Park a slightly rural feel even though you’re still in Vancouver. Traffic noise from the surrounding streets does creep in, so this is more of a convenient urban nature walk than a full escape into silence.

Recent visitors have been frustrated with the dog situation here, especially the small, poorly marked off-leash area and lack of clear signage once you’re inside the park. If you’re bringing a dog, plan on keeping them leashed and be ready to share the trail with horses, which also means watching your step for manure along the way. The Musqueam Park Loop is usable year-round, with the driest and most pleasant conditions usually from June to August, but after heavy rain some sections can feel a bit soggy, so waterproof shoes are a smart call.
