Trail Description

Pacific Spirit: Inner Loop is one of Vancouver’s easiest ways to escape into real forest without leaving the city. This 6.9 km loop in Pacific Spirit Regional Park is almost totally flat, with only about 68 m of gain and a mellow top elevation around 97 m, so it feels more like a relaxed wander than a workout. Most people wrap it up in about an hour and a half, making it a solid choice for an after-work reset or a no-stress weekend walk.

The trail winds through classic West Coast forest: tall evergreens, soft dirt underfoot, and that quiet, damp air you only get under big trees. The Pacific Spirit: Inner Loop is fully shaded, which keeps it cool in summer and gives it a calm, dim vibe on cloudy days. In winter, a light dusting of snow makes the woods feel extra peaceful, and there are lots of side paths if you feel like exploring beyond the main loop.

Recent hikers report the route as mostly even, totally manageable for beginners, kids, and anyone just wanting a peaceful nature fix, though it can be a little wet and muddy after rain. The park center has very clean washrooms, and access from 16th Avenue and nearby streets is straightforward. The loop is open year-round, but waterproof shoes help in the rainy months, and in summer the full shade makes Pacific Spirit: Inner Loop one of Vancouver’s best cool-down walks on hot days.
