Trail Description
False Creek Loop via Mount Pleasant Community Centre is a relaxed 10.3 km city loop in Vancouver that strings together some of the best waterfront in the city. With only about 100 m of gain and a max elevation around 27 m, it’s an easy route that feels more like an extended walk than a hike, great when you want to keep moving without punishing your legs. Expect it to take around two hours if you’re walking, less if you’re running or riding.
The loop winds from Mount Pleasant down toward False Creek, then follows the seawall past marinas, small parks, condos, and retail pockets, with frequent views of downtown and the North Shore mountains on a clear day. You’ll likely pass Granville Island, Creekside Park, David Lam Park, and George Wainborn Park, crossing at least one of the big bridges like Burrard for a higher vantage point over the water. Surfaces are mostly paved or well-maintained paths, busy but well marked, with separate bike and pedestrian lanes in many sections so you’re not constantly dodging cyclists.
Right now, people report a vibrant, social route with lots of runners, walkers, and riders out, even in drizzle and rain, so plan for wet pavement and bring a light shell. Some sectors around False Creek have construction detours, so keep an eye on signage and be ready for a few minor reroutes. The loop is mostly flat and easy, but riders and runners will notice a bit of a climb heading back toward Mount Pleasant; it’s short and manageable. False Creek Loop via Mount Pleasant Community Centre is doable year-round, with spring and fall feeling especially good when the air is cool and the seawall is a little less packed.
