Trail Description

Serpentine, Nurse Stump and Sunny Trail in Surrey is a super easy 3.5 km loop that feels way more “forest escape” than city park, even though it’s right in town. With only about 48 m of elevation gain and wide, gentle paths, it’s a relaxed 47-minute stroll for most people, ideal if you just want to move your legs, clear your head, or go for a no-stress jog.

The loop threads through tall evergreens with plenty of shade, old nurse stumps, and sections along the Serpentine River and small creeks, so you get that damp forest smell and running water sound most of the way. There aren’t big mountain views here; it’s more about the quiet, the trees, and a bit of rolling terrain that keeps it from feeling totally flat while still being very easy.

Recent hikers mention the trail can be wet and soggy after rain, especially in fall, so expect mud and bring waterproof shoes if it’s been wet. On dry days, the gravel sections can get a bit slippery, so runners should watch their footing on the small downhills. Serpentine, Nurse Stump and Sunny Trail is open year-round and works in almost any season, from cool, misty fall walks to shady summer runs, and it’s a solid quick loop if you’re in Surrey and want something simple, close, and low-commitment.
