Trail Description
Katzie Greenway in Surrey, BC is a straightforward urban workout, not a lazy park stroll. This 3.9 km out-and-back path is fully paved and climbs gently but steadily, gaining about 37 m to a high point around 87 m, so expect your legs and lungs to feel it a bit even though it’s rated very easy.
The route runs between 69B Neighbourhood Park and 73 Avenue, following a wide multi-use path through a quiet residential area. You’ll share Katzie Greenway with walkers, runners, and cyclists, with open sky most of the way and occasional views over the surrounding neighbourhoods as you gain elevation.
Recent hikers note that it’s basically uphill the whole way out, so budget some effort for the first half and enjoy the easier return. Most of the trail is exposed with minimal shade, so bring a hat, sunscreen, and water, especially on warm days. Katzie Greenway is open year-round, works well for a quick fitness walk in any season, and is dog-friendly on leash, with roadside parking available near the 69B Neighbourhood Park trailhead.
