Trail Description
Redwood Park Loop in Surrey, BC is a short, easy forest walk that packs in more charm than its 1.3 km distance suggests. With only about 13 m of elevation gain and wide, gentle paths, it’s a quick 16-minute stretch-your-legs kind of loop that works for strollers, seniors, and little kids alike. If you’re local to Surrey and want a calm walk without driving to the mountains, this is an easy go-to.
The main loop at Redwood Park is smooth and simple, winding through tall trees, open meadows, and the quirky fairy and birdhouse “village” that the park is known for. You can stick to the loop or branch off onto narrower side trails that feel more like classic forest singletrack, still very manageable but slightly more overgrown and muddy after rain. Expect lots of bird calls, pockets of quiet, and fun little splashes of colour from the tiny houses hidden along the way.
Recent visitors mention the park staying peaceful on rainy mornings, though some of the fairy houses have been knocked over or broken, so don’t be surprised if the “fairy forest” looks a bit rough in spots. The narrower side paths are still easy to follow but can be wet and brushy, so casual shoes you don’t mind getting dirty are a good idea. Redwood Park Loop is walkable year-round in Surrey, with February through October being the most pleasant; go early or on cloudy days if you want it quieter, and keep dogs leashed as it’s a popular family spot.
