Trail Description

Latimer Pond Park Loop in Surrey is a quick, low-effort escape when you just want a short walk in the trees without leaving the city. The loop is only about 1.8 km with barely any elevation, so it’s more of a relaxed stroll than a hike and usually takes around 20 minutes. It’s an easy spot to stretch your legs, walk the dog on leash, or let the kids burn off some energy around the pond.

The trail circles Latimer Pond with a mix of well-groomed gravel, dirt paths, and a boardwalk section that gives you a closer look at the water. You’ll pass quiet forested sections, a few side trails, and views across the pond where you might catch ducks and other birds if you time it right. Because there are lots of interconnecting paths and bike lines off to the east, it’s easy to extend your walk or accidentally drift off the main loop if you’re not paying attention.

Recent visitors report that Latimer Pond Park has had construction closures, so it’s smart to check current access before you go. When the trail is open, expect some confusing junctions and bring a map app if you don’t know the area well. The dirt sections can get muddy once the rain hits, so waterproof shoes help in fall and winter, while summer and spring are usually dry, quick, and straightforward. There is a restroom in the park, which makes this little Surrey loop extra convenient for short family walks.
