Trail Description

Green Timbers North Trails in Surrey is one of those spots that reminds you the city still has real forest left. This 2.9 km loop is flat, shaded, and very easy, so it’s more of a relaxed wander than a workout, usually wrapped up in about half an hour. For locals, it’s a quick reset in the trees without having to drive out to the mountains.

The loop winds through second-growth forest on wide, mostly smooth paths, with lots of side trails if you want to stretch it into a 45-minute walk or an easy jog. Views are all about the woods themselves: tall trees, filtered light, and in spring, forest wildflowers like trilliums popping up along the edges. It sits right in the middle of Surrey, but once you’re a few minutes in, traffic noise fades and it feels surprisingly quiet.

Recent reports mention one muddy section in the northeast corner and the odd overgrown or bumpy patch, so lighter footwear is fine, but don’t bring your nicest white runners. Some sections aren’t great for strollers, though you can usually reroute using the well-signed trail network and a map app like AllTrails. Green Timbers North Trails stay walkable year-round, with lots of shade in summer, and there’s plenty of parking plus washrooms near the main access, making it an easy go-to after work or on a quick lunch break.
