Trail Description

Golden Ears Greenway in Surrey, BC is a flat, easy out-and-back path that feels more like a relaxed urban escape than a rugged hike. At 8.4 km with barely any elevation gain, it’s ideal for a casual walk, a stroller-friendly outing, or a steady run without worrying about hills. If you live anywhere near Tynehead Park, this quickly becomes a go-to route for daily movement.

The trail is paved the whole way, so you can count on clean footing in almost any weather. You’ll follow a straight corridor with greenery on both sides, passing under big open sky with glimpses of surrounding neighbourhoods and the nearby highway. It’s not a deep-forest experience, but it’s a reliable, no-nonsense greenway where you can just zone out and keep a smooth pace.

To reach the Golden Ears Greenway trailhead, park at Tynehead Park’s lot about two blocks west, then walk the Tynehead Perimeter Trail east and cross the intersection to connect. Expect some steady highway noise, so bring headphones if that bothers you. The route is open year-round, drains well thanks to the pavement, and is shared with cyclists and runners, so keep dogs leashed and stay aware of faster traffic on busy evenings and weekends.
