Trail Description
Pitt Meadows Regional Greenway in Pitt Meadows is as flat and easy as it gets, but still worth the time. This 10.5 km point-to-point route along the dyke has only 23 m of gain and tops out around 9 m, so it’s more of a relaxed walk or bike than a workout, usually taking just under 2 hours at a casual pace.
On one side you’ve got the Fraser River and Pitt River views, on the other, wide open farmland and big sky, with the Coast Mountains lining the horizon. The trail surface is mostly gravel with some older asphalt sections, and you’ll pass near the local airport, which makes plane spotting surprisingly fun as they take off and land right beside the Pitt Meadows Regional Greenway.
Recent reports say the trail is in good shape, flat and well maintained, with no major issues beyond the odd pothole or dip where asphalt meets gravel. It can get busy in sections with cyclists, runners, and dog walkers, and while dogs are supposed to be leashed, expect a few off-leash encounters. The Pitt Meadows Regional Greenway is open year-round and stays very walkable in most seasons, but bring a wind layer for cooler days along the river and a hat and water in summer since there’s very little shade.
