Trail Description
Watershed Park Lower Trail in Delta, BC is the kind of easy walk you do once and then keep coming back to. This 4.3 km out-and-back route is almost flat, with only about 25 m of gain, so it’s more of a relaxed forest wander than a workout, usually taking around 50 minutes at a casual pace.
The trail winds through cool, shaded second-growth forest, making it a great escape on hot days. You’ll follow a wide, well-defined path with side trails branching off if you feel like exploring a bit more, and the mix of birds, frogs, and damp forest smells gives Watershed Park Lower Trail a real “out of the city” feel even though you’re still in Delta.
Recent visitors say the main path is smooth, very accessible, and fine for strollers and young kids, with enough people around that you won’t feel isolated but not so many that it feels busy. Kids have been loving the frogs in the bigger puddles, so expect some mud and standing water after rain, and plan footwear accordingly. This trail is walkable year-round, but it’s especially pleasant from spring through fall when the forest is green and the air stays cool under the trees.
