Trail Description

North 40 Dog Park Loop in Delta, BC is the kind of place your dog dreams about. This 1.8 km loop is dead easy, almost totally flat with just 4 m of gain, and usually takes under 20 minutes to walk, unless your pup insists on sniffing every blade of grass. It’s a quick, low-effort outing for humans, and a full-on adventure zone for dogs.

The main North 40 Dog Park Loop is mostly paved, winding past open fields, grassy stretches, and pockets of trees with distant mountain views on a clear day. Off the main loop, you’ll find little wooded side trails and grassy chutes where it feels a bit more natural and quiet, as long as your dog comes when called. Keep an eye out overhead too, because this area is known for tons of eagles cruising the sky and hanging out in nearby trees.

Right now, the primary loop in North 40 Dog Park in Delta is in good shape, with the paved paths staying solid even after rain, but some of the secondary dirt trails are starting to get muddy and slick. Expect constant traffic noise, occasional trains, planes overhead, and even the odd loud bang in the distance, so sound-sensitive dogs might be on edge. This loop works year-round thanks to the pavement, with fall and winter being especially popular for quick walks; just bring a towel for muddy paws, a light if you’re coming at dusk when it gets quiet, and be ready to share the space with a lot of very happy dogs.
