Trail Description

The Upper Trail to Water Tower Trail and Lower Trail Loop in Delta, British Columbia is a quick, low-effort outing that still feels like a real walk, not just a stroll around the block. At 3.1 km with only about 62 m of elevation gain and a high point around 67 m, it’s firmly in the very easy category and usually takes around 45 minutes, making it a solid choice for families, beginners, or anyone squeezing in a short after-work walk.

The loop links together the Upper Trail, Water Tower Trail, and Lower Trail, giving you a bit of variety as you wind through second-growth forest and open sections with peeks at the surrounding Delta neighborhood. You’re mostly on gentle, wide paths with a few minor ups and downs, enough to keep it interesting without feeling like a workout. It’s a nice mix of shaded stretches and more open areas, and you’ll likely share the route with casual walkers, birdwatchers, and the odd mountain biker.

Recent visitors mention the trail being wet after rain, so expect some muddy patches if it’s rained the night before and wear footwear you don’t mind getting dirty. The loop is easy to follow, but some people like to wander off the main line and explore side paths, which is part of the fun if you’re not in a rush. Upper Trail to Water Tower Trail and Lower Trail Loop is generally good year-round, with the most pleasant conditions from late winter through early fall, and quieter, more peaceful walks early in the morning or later in the evening.
