Trail Description
Tsawwassen Circular in Delta, BC is a flat, fast 10 km loop that feels more like a relaxed city run than a rugged hike. With only about 80 m of gain and a max altitude around 64 m, it’s ideal if you want easy mileage, a steady pace, and a route you can finish in roughly two hours without breaking yourself on hills.
The loop circles through the Tsawwassen area, mixing quiet residential streets, open stretches, and big-sky views you don’t always get closer to Vancouver. You’re not in deep forest here; it’s more about open air, long sightlines, and, if you time it right, a solid sunset over the water and Gulf Islands that makes the last few kilometres go down easy.
Locals use the Tsawwassen Circular for Vancouver Sun Run training because it’s simple to follow, non-technical, and lets you lock into a rhythm. It’s very easy walking with good surfaces most of the way, so regular runners and casual walkers can share the loop comfortably. March through October is the sweet spot for weather and light, but sunsets are the real highlight, so consider an evening lap, bring a light if you’re cutting it close, and expect some wind off the water on exposed sections.
