Trail Description

S Trail Walk in Burnaby, BC is a super short, super casual stretch of trail that’s more about getting a few quick steps in than going on an epic hike. At just 1.3 km out and back with barely 20 m of elevation, it’s an easy 18-minute stroll for most people, right beside Moscrop Secondary School. Think of it as a local cut-through or mini walk in the trees, not a destination trail.

Once you’re on S Trail Walk, it feels like you’re dipping in and out of a larger trail system rather than following one clear, obvious route. The path weaves around in a way that can feel a bit random, with some junctions that aren’t clearly marked. You’ll get a mix of urban-edge forest vibes and quieter pockets where you can zone out for a bit, but views are limited and it’s more about movement than scenery.

Recent visitors report that parts of S Trail Walk in Burnaby are not well maintained, with some overgrown sections and the odd tree down, especially toward the southeastern end. The route can be confusing, so having a map handy and checking the Burnaby Parks PDF before you go is smart. It’s open year-round and fine for a quick walk or run, but go in with low expectations, keep dogs leashed, and treat it as a convenient local option rather than a must-do hike.
