Trail Description

Muddy Loop, Slide, and F100 Trail in Chilliwack sits just above the Cultus Lake South area and offers a quick hit of forest singletrack without eating up your whole day. At 5.3 km with about 305 m of elevation gain and a high point around 580 m, it’s tagged as moderate, but the short distance means most reasonably fit hikers and runners can knock it off fast. The average 24-minute time is more realistic for mountain bikers; on foot, expect longer so you can actually enjoy it.

The loop winds through classic Chilliwack coastal forest, with packed dirt, roots, and a few short, punchy climbs that wake up your legs. There aren’t big open viewpoints here; the appeal is the flow of the trail itself, the quiet, and the mix of gentle grades and quick downs that make it popular with local riders. It links Muddy Loop, Slide, and F100 into a smooth circuit that feels more like a fun lap than a grind.

Recent reports still line up with the “moderate” label, but the name Muddy Loop is accurate after rain, so expect slick sections, puddles, and some greasy roots in wet weather. This area near Cultus Lake South stays hikeable most of the year, though winter can bring snow or ice patches in colder snaps, and shoulder seasons are the messiest. Bring decent traction, give right of way to mountain bikers, keep dogs under control even where off-leash is allowed, and plan this as a quick local mission rather than an all-day objective.
