Trail Description

Hillkeep Regional Park Loop in Chilliwack is a quick, low-effort walk with a legit payoff. The loop itself is only about 1.9 km with around 56 m of gain, so it feels more like a relaxed stroll than a workout, and most people are done in about half an hour. It’s an easy way to get a forest fix and a viewpoint without committing to a big mountain mission.

The trail winds through a shaded mix of grass and dirt paths, which feels softer and quieter underfoot than gravel. From the loop, you can tack on the short lookout trail for a clear view over Chilliwack and the surrounding peaks, then drop back into the woods to finish the circuit. The routes are well signed and easy to follow, so you’re not fussing with maps or guessing at junctions.

Recent hikers say Hillkeep Regional Park Loop is very kid friendly, with just a few mild hills and no sketchy sections, making it ideal for families and casual walkers. The trail is well maintained, but there’s only a small parking lot and no bathrooms, so plan ahead and expect some turnover as people hit the lookout and leave. Bugs can be annoying in mid-summer, so bring spray if it’s hot; the rest of the year is usually comfortable, with the shaded forest keeping things cool even on brighter days.
