Trail Description

Dilemma Mountain Biking Trail in Chilliwack is a short, steep shot of adrenaline, not a casual stroll in the woods. At 2.7 km out and back with about 240 m of gain up to roughly 373 m, it rides much bigger than it looks on paper. This is a black downhill trail that local riders treat as a serious descent, so think full-face helmet vibes, not family hike.

The climb up Dilemma is usually done via other access routes; the main line is built to go down, fast. Expect tight, technical sections with rock, roots, and a few wood features and bridges that demand solid bike handling. When you’re not laser-focused on the trail, there are quick peeks through the trees toward the Chilliwack valley, but the real draw here is the flow and challenge, not big viewpoints.

Current feedback from riders is consistent: Dilemma Mountain Biking Trail is heavily used by downhillers and is not recommended for hiking. There are no dedicated uphill or hiking lanes, and the speed of riders makes it unsafe to walk up the main line. Aim for dry conditions if you can, since the roots and wood structures get slick fast, and ride it in spring through fall when the snow is gone and the dirt is good. If you’re not an experienced mountain biker with proper gear, pick a true hiking trail elsewhere in Chilliwack instead.
