Trail Description

Cultus Lake North Shore in Chilliwack is a super mellow lakeside walk that’s more about relaxing than grinding out elevation. At 3.7 km return with only about 14 m of gain, it’s a flat, easy out-and-back that most people wrap up in around 40–45 minutes. It’s a solid choice if you want a quick leg-stretcher before hitting bigger hikes or runs in the Cultus Lake area.

The trail hugs the north shore of Cultus Lake, giving you steady water views and easy access to the shoreline. You’ll walk through light forest and along sections where the lake opens up, with plenty of spots to stop, sit on a log, and watch boats or the evening light on the water. The route is straightforward, so you can zone out, chat, or let kids and leashed dogs explore without worrying about tricky terrain.

Recent hikers use Cultus Lake North Shore as a warm-up walk or a preview run, which tells you a lot about how gentle it is underfoot. The path is generally well-maintained, but expect some roots, puddles, and muddy bits after rain, especially outside the drier summer window of July to September. Bring bug spray in warmer months, keep dogs on leash where signed, and aim for early morning or late evening if you want a quieter experience away from peak Cultus Lake crowds.
