Trail Description

Bridlewood Trail in Chilliwack, BC is a quick hit of elevation without committing your whole day. At 2.6 km return with about 147 m of gain, it’s a short, moderate grind that most people wrap up in under an hour. It’s a solid choice if you want a leg burner, a bit of forest time, and an easy escape back to the car.

The Bridlewood Trail climbs steadily through typical Chilliwack forest, with a good down-and-up rhythm that keeps your heart rate honest. You’ll get a few peekaboo views of nearby peaks and a small waterfall along the way, plus access to other short trails and roads in the area if you feel like wandering farther. The turnaround point is a small campsite-style clearing with a fire spot and a little dip zone that feels like a natural pause before heading back down.

Recent hikers report dry conditions with no rain, and the trail itself is straightforward to follow. Because Bridlewood Trail connects into the wider Vedder River Trail network and sits near Chilliwack Lake Road, you can easily tack on extra distance or some stair-style climbs if 56 minutes feels too short. The route is open year-round, dogs are allowed on leash, and it’s best to bring decent footwear for the steady grade and be ready for mud and slick roots in the wetter months.
