Trail Description
Bridal Veil Falls in Chilliwack is the classic quick leg-stretch stop right off Highway 1, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The loop is only about 1 km with roughly 83 m of gain, so you get a solid uphill walk without needing half a day. Most people are up at the main viewing platform in around 10–15 minutes, which makes this a super easy add-on to any Fraser Valley road trip.
The trail through Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park is wide, well-marked, and climbs steadily through cool, mossy forest. The incline is constant but manageable, with a gravel surface and a few steeper, pebblier sections near the top. The payoff is a tall, fanned-out waterfall dropping over smooth rock, with great views from the platform and the option for a short, steeper scramble closer to the base if you’re sure-footed and careful.
Recent visitors say the trail is very busy, especially sunny weekends, with the big parking lot often close to full, though RVs still manage fine. Expect crowds, kids, dogs on leash, and lots of people angling for photos, and be aware some ignore the “stay off the falls” signs, which can send rocks down. The loop is usually snow-free and easiest from spring through fall; in winter the park gate is often closed and you may have to walk in from the road. Plan an early or weekday visit for a quieter experience, bring shoes with decent grip for the loose rock near the base, and take advantage of the bathrooms and picnic tables if you’re breaking up a drive between Vancouver and the Interior.
