Trail Description

Lily Lake Trail in Pender Harbour is a quick, low-effort wander that feels surprisingly quiet for how close it is to the road. At just 2.1 km out and back with almost no elevation gain, it’s more of a relaxed lakeside stroll than a “hike,” which makes it ideal for stretching your legs between Sunshine Coast adventures or introducing kids and casual walkers to local trails.

The path follows the edge of Lily Lake through second-growth forest, with filtered water views popping in and out between the trees. It’s a simple, well-defined route with a few short side loops to explore if you want to pad out the distance, and when conditions are right you can sometimes spot turtles sunning themselves near the shoreline, though they’re not always around.

Recent visitors describe Lily Lake Trail as very easy, short, and well forested, so don’t expect a workout or big viewpoints; this is more about calm, flat walking and a bit of nature time. The trail surface is generally smooth, but it can get damp and slick after rain, so light hikers or sturdy sneakers are enough. It’s accessible year-round in Pender Harbour, with spring and early summer offering the greenest feel and better chances of wildlife sightings, while fall and winter walks are quieter and cooler but just as straightforward.
