Trail Description
Daniel Point in Pender Harbour is one of those short walks that delivers way more than you expect. The trail is only 0.6 km out and back with about 38 m of elevation, but it drops you right down to rugged shoreline with wide-open ocean views in around 10–15 minutes.
The walk starts from a small residential roadside pullout and heads through forest before turning into a steeper, rocky path as you get closer to the water. Large rock slabs form the final descent, and from there you can wander along smaller side paths to different viewpoints over the Strait of Georgia, making it a fantastic sunset spot when the sky is clear.
Recent visitors say Daniel Point is short but a bit rough underfoot, so good footwear is worth it, especially on the rocky sections near the bottom. The rock can be slick after rain, so this trail is best on a dry day, and parking is limited to just a few spots along the road by private driveways, so be respectful and prepared to turn around if it’s full. The trail is open year-round and rated easy, but the steep, rocky bits give it just enough challenge that you’ll want to take your time on the way back up.
