Trail Description
Cecil Hill via Menacher Road is a low-key Sunshine Coast grind just outside Pender Harbour, offering a solid 10.3 km out-and-back with about 362 m of gain. It’s rated moderate and usually takes around 3 hours, making it a good half-day leg-stretcher rather than a full-on mountain mission.
The route starts on an old road, then narrows into more of a classic coastal forest trail as you climb toward roughly 391 m. The forest is the main attraction here, with quiet, shaded walking and only partial views through the trees until you reach the top, where the lookout is decent but not a huge panorama.
Recent hikers report that Cecil Hill via Menacher Road is quite overgrown in spots and the trail can be hard to follow, so download a map, watch for flagging, and be ready to backtrack if you lose the line. Expect brushy sections, some wet areas after rain, and limited views, but a peaceful atmosphere and a good morning walk with the dog, as long as they’re leashed and used to rougher paths. This one is best in spring and fall or on cooler summer mornings, when the forest stays comfortable and visibility is good enough to spot the sometimes-faint trail.
