Trail Description

Upper Shannon Falls and Wonderland Lake Loop Trails in Squamish give you an easy, low-commitment outing with a solid payoff. At just 2.9 km with about 98 m of gain, this loop is a quick warm-up hike that usually takes under an hour, making it a good option before tackling the bigger Squamish climbs or as a relaxed morning walk.

The loop winds through classic coastal forest, with enough shade to keep things comfortable, especially in the morning. You’ll get a calm view over Wonderland Lake, a small, quiet spot that feels surprisingly peaceful given how close you are to the highway and popular Shannon Falls area.

Recent hikers call Upper Shannon Falls and Wonderland Lake Loop Trails an easy route to follow, especially if you stick to the AllTrails map. Cell service, including Verizon, has been solid along the way, which helps with navigation, but the loop is short and straightforward for most people with basic trail experience. Expect mostly dry, packed dirt and roots in summer, some mud or slick patches after rain, and better conditions from late spring through early fall; shoulder seasons can bring snow or ice at higher points, so check recent reports if you’re heading up outside June to September.
