Trail Description

Tatlow Nymph Pool is a long, quiet grind in the Squamish backcountry, ending at a calm forest pool that feels a world away from the highway. The route is about 24.9 km out and back with roughly 456 m of elevation gain, so the challenge comes more from distance than steep climbing. It’s a solid full-day outing that rewards patient hikers who like big walks on mellow grades.

The Tatlow Nymph Pool trail near Squamish follows old roads and forest paths, rolling gently through dense coastal forest with the occasional break in the trees. Views are more about mossy trunks, creeks, and the feel of deep woods than big alpine panoramas, and the payoff is the quiet pool at the turnaround point. Expect a steady, meditative walk rather than a short, dramatic viewpoint hit.

Recent reports suggest the trail is still used but not heavily trafficked, so sections can feel a bit overgrown and muddy, especially after rain or in shoulder seasons. Plan for a 6-hour day at least, bring good footwear, and download your map ahead of time since cell service is spotty. Snow can linger in winter and early spring around shaded sections, so late spring to fall is the most reliable time to hike Tatlow Nymph Pool in Squamish.
