Trail Description
Coho Park and Trestle Trail Loop in Squamish is an easy local favourite when you want a quick forest fix without committing to a big climb. At 5.6 km with about 192 m of gain and a mellow high point around 123 m, it’s a relaxed loop that most people finish in about 1 hour 40 minutes. The draw here is a mix of shady woods, creeks, and those cool old-school trestle features that give the trail its name.
The loop links together Craig's Connector, Jack's, The Covenant, Coho Park Trail, 4 Play, and Trestle Trail, so it feels more like a tour of the DeBeck’s Hill network than a single path. You’ll move in and out of classic Squamish forest, with sturdy bridges and trestle crossings breaking up the walking and adding some character. It’s a multi-use route, so expect to share it with mountain bikers and the odd trail runner, but the grade stays friendly enough for a casual hike.
Recent reports mention an active construction site along part of the Coho Park and Trestle Trail Loop, which means some noise and a bit of an eyesore in spots, but the rest of the loop still feels surprisingly peaceful. The bridges are in good shape and worth checking out, and the low elevation makes this a true year-round option, with wet roots and mud more likely than snow. Go early or later in the day for a quieter experience, keep dogs under control around bikes and construction, and be ready for typical Squamish conditions: damp, slick, and green almost any month of the year.
