Trail Description

Alice Lake Loop in Squamish is the kind of trail you hit when you want an easy wander with maximum payoff and almost no effort. At just 1.8 km with 13 m of gain, it’s a flat, very easy loop around the lake that most people finish in about 20 minutes, though you’ll probably slow down to enjoy the views. It’s inside Alice Lake Provincial Park, so you get that “mini getaway” feel without having to go far from town.

The path circles right along the shoreline in many spots, mostly shaded, with clear views across Alice Lake to the surrounding forested hills and mountains. On calm days the reflections on the water are impressive, especially in fall when the colours pop, and even in heavy rain the loop still feels inviting, with low clouds hanging over the peaks. You’ll pass beaches, picnic areas, and playgrounds, and in summer this is a popular place to swim, paddle, and hang out by the water after a quick lap.

Current reports say the Alice Lake Loop trail is dry, easy to follow, and bug-free, with quiet mornings where you might have it almost to yourself around 8:30 a.m. Dogs are not fully allowed on all sections, so this isn’t a great choice for walking your pup. From May to October, bikes are not permitted on the loop even though some older info lists it as a bike trail, so plan to walk it. The trail is open year-round, and even in rain it’s a simple, cozy circuit that works for families, casual walkers, and anyone wanting a short stretch of the legs near Squamish.
