Trail Description

Whytecliff Park Panorama Ridge Trails in West Vancouver pack a lot into a short 1.1 km loop. You get quick elevation, easy grades, and big ocean views without committing half a day, which makes it a great option if you’re killing time before or after a Horseshoe Bay ferry. Expect about 1 h 50 min if you’re stopping for photos and bench breaks, less if you move steadily.

The loop winds through classic coastal forest with clear, well-maintained paths and gentle ups and downs to about 83 m. As you work along the ridge, gaps in the trees open to sweeping Howe Sound and island views, with random benches giving you excuses to stop and stare. The route eventually drops toward a road near the park boundary, then links back into the trail network to close the loop.

Right now, the Whytecliff Park Panorama Ridge Trails are in good shape and easy to follow, with dogs allowed on-leash on the trail but not on the beaches below. The park itself can be very busy on sunny weekends and parking fills fast, so arrive early or be ready to circle or walk in from farther away. The loop is hikeable year-round, though it can be slick after rain, so decent footwear helps, and always keep an eye on tides if you plan to explore the nearby rocky island area off the main park.
