Trail Description

Marjorie’s Meadow in Lions Bay, just north of West Vancouver, is a tiny trail with a big local following. This 0.3 km out-and-back route climbs about 24 metres and usually takes only 7 minutes, but it feels more like a quick escape than a simple dog walk. Locals also call it the Doggy Trail, thanks to its history and its off-leash, dog-friendly vibe.

The path winds gently through forest toward the sound of rushing water, with the views starting right from the gate. You’ll hear the waterfall before you see it, crashing over rocks and echoing through the trees, which gives this short walk a surprisingly wild feel. It’s a nice little leg-stretcher if you’re already in Lions Bay or exploring the Sea to Sky corridor from West Vancouver.

Despite the short distance, Marjorie’s Meadow is rated moderate because it can be rooty, uneven, and slick when wet, so decent footwear helps. The trail is open year-round, but expect mud and slippery sections after rain and in winter, and keep an eye on dogs near steeper edges and water. It rarely gets crowded, so it’s a good option if you want a quick, quiet outing with your dog and a waterfall payoff without committing to a full mountain hike.
