Trail Description
Lepp Trail in West Vancouver is one of those tiny routes that surprises you. It’s only 0.6 km long with about 56 m of gain, but it packs a solid little workout into less than 20 minutes. Think of it as a quick, steep leg-stretcher along a creek rather than a big-view mountain mission.
The trail follows Lawson Creek, so you get the sound of moving water almost the whole way. The path climbs steadily on well-maintained steps, weaving between trees and some very high-end homes that remind you you’re still in West Vancouver, not deep in the backcountry. It’s an out-and-back, so you just follow the same route up and down with no confusing junctions.
Right now, the best way to hike Lepp Trail is to start from the lower end on Chippendale Road instead of Pinecrest Drive. Starting low means you climb first, then enjoy the easy downhill back to the car, and parking is simpler on Chippendale. The trail is usually in good shape year-round, but can be damp and a bit slick after rain, so decent shoes help. If you have extra energy, use Lepp Trail as a quick warmup and then link it with nearby routes like Millstream Trail to turn it into a longer outing.
