Trail Description

Blind Skier – SGS – Antagonizer is a quiet loop in the Cypress Bowl area of West Vancouver, away from the crowds but right in the middle of serious old growth forest. The loop is listed at 4.5 km with about 211 m of gain, but many hikers track it closer to 7 km once all the twists and connectors are included, so plan for closer to 2 hours than the official 1.5. It’s rated easy, but the remote feel and lack of markings make it better for people who are comfortable following a GPS track.

From the parking off Cypress Bowl Road, you drop into the Old Growth Conservancy, walking among huge red cedars that are several hundred years old. The Blind Skier – SGS – Antagonizer loop mixes old hiking routes with sections of mountain bike trail, so expect narrow boardwalks, roots, and a few rough bridges rather than a groomed walking path. Views are mostly about the forest itself: mossy logs, big trunks, and quiet, shaded singletrack instead of big open vistas.

Recent hikers report almost no trail markings, so download the AllTrails map or a GPX file and keep it open the whole time; it’s very easy to wander off onto other bike lines. Some of the narrow bridges on the SGS bike trail are aging and feel wobbly, so take them slowly, especially in wet weather. The Blind Skier – SGS – Antagonizer loop in West Vancouver is usually best from June through November when the snow is gone, and it’s worth checking BC Parks’ Cypress page for any seasonal closures or access changes before you go.
