Trail Description

West Vancouver Seaview Walk is one of those rare trails that really is as easy as the stats promise. This 4.2 km out-and-back path in West Vancouver is almost completely flat, with only about 24 m of elevation gain and a max altitude around 68 m, so it feels more like a relaxed stroll than a hike. It usually takes under an hour, but most people slow it down to enjoy the calm and the coastal feel.

The Seaview Walk follows a wide, mostly packed gravel path with some pavement, making it a friendly route for kids, strollers, and older hikers. You get a mix of forest, peekaboo ocean views, and that quiet West Vancouver neighbourhood vibe, with benches along the way if you want to sit and listen to the birds or watch the light change in the trees. It’s popular but not chaotic, and twilight can be especially nice, with the chance of spotting deer along the trail.

Recent reports say the West Vancouver Seaview Walk is well maintained and very easy underfoot, though you can expect some mud and the odd fallen tree, especially after rain. Dogs are common here and many are off leash, so be ready for that if you’re bringing kids or a nervous pup. The trail is generally peaceful in cooler months, with clear, sunny days around 9°C in spring feeling ideal, and most people hit it from February through October for a quick, low-effort outing close to town.
