Trail Description
Richmond Nature Park in Richmond, BC is a super gentle 3.1 km loop that feels more like a relaxed nature stroll than a hike. With only about 5 m of elevation gain and a max altitude around 10 m, it usually takes just over half an hour, making it easy to fit into a busy day or tag onto errands in the city.
The loop winds through classic bog habitat, with stretches of boardwalk, flat dirt paths, and tight shrub-lined sections that keep things feeling enclosed and quiet. You’ll spot cool mushrooms right off the trail, low-growing berries by the entrance, and, if you’re into it, a few geocaches hidden along the route that add a bit of a treasure-hunt vibe.
Richmond Nature Park is well maintained and stays accessible year-round, but the ground can get muddy after rain, so casual hikers may still want waterproof shoes. The dense vegetation means the air can feel buggy or a bit itchy if you stop for too long, so light long sleeves and bug spray are smart in warmer months. Dogs aren’t allowed, but there’s a Nature House, kids’ area, shaded benches, and toilets, which makes this loop an easy, low-stress outing in the middle of Richmond.
